Persuasive Argument

Fellow citizens of the jury, as the defendant of my client, Mr. Edward Hyde, I can assure you that the heinous acts committed a year ago wasn't entirely this man's fault. While it may seem obvious that the perpetrator murdered an upper class, Sir Danvers Carew of the Parliament and trampled a young girl, name not given, with an age of about ten years, this was only the cause of a drug taken by Hyde's true identity, Dr. Henry Jekyll. Through science, a newly created persona was born, which was used as a cover up in modern society, was none other than Mr. Hyde himself. However, Dr. Jekyll specifically created this alternate persona for doing evil deeds and cause havoc for others, not having to deal with the consequences that were to follow afterward in his original form. It couldn't be helped, his evil side gradually took over his normal self, unable to fully control it now, explaining the uncontrollable rampages and murders. Hyde had no say in the matter, since he was formed together by Jekyll, and had no desire to conflict harm against others, but unfortunately, that was his original purpose in the development of his creation. The maid may have witnessed the entire scene unravel before her eyes, but what she doesn't know is the true story, the reason behind it all. Prosecution is not necessary for the innocent, only the guilty and unholy should be truly convicted, for justice and order in our nation.
